HISTORY

The Lacombe and District Agricultural  Society is a community of farmers, ranchers, agriculturalists and more. For over 100 years, we have built a society from the ground and we have grown a rich history that impacts us all. Our roots run deep in the region, extending out to the world around us and growing from the help of the people we reach.

In the beginning, the Lacombe and District Agricultural Society was not one, but three individual groups: the Lacombe Agricultural Society; the Lacombe Fair Grounds Company Ltd.; and the Central Alberta Cattle Breeders Association.

These groups faced financial difficulties that threatened to put an end to their efforts. In order to avoid closure, they joined together and formed one single group: the Central and District Agricultural Society.

The Lacombe and District Agricultural  Society today is involved in many activities and events in the world around us. We have hosted and been sponsors for events such as the Annual Bull Sale and the Mind the Farm Fundraiser. We are inspired by today's youth and for such reason, we help connect them with programs like the Rotary Adventures in Agriculture. The Lacombe and District Ag Society hosts a variety of clubs in order to create a more diverse community around us. We invite everyone to come participate in our events. Growing our community is very important to us.

Our efforts in growing our surrounding community help us grow as well. The Lacombe and District Agricultural Society relies on the donations and service of those in the community. We don't exist without the very community we are working to build. We are forever grateful for the continuous support of our community.

We hope to continue to grow our community. The roots of our history run deep in the region and we'd love for you to become a part of our story.
